Hi ss,

I'm a workplace trainer andThere has been a complaint from a student.

Basically she is saying that I was abusive to her when I wasn't. she couldn't understand the content properly and was not supposed to book into the 1 hour express course. The regular 4 hour course is the proper course where we go through everything, and she should have booked into that.

I have two options, quit and pray that another job comes along. My boss is pissed because it was a very long detailed email.

Not sure how to respond to the complaint.

Btw, I can't figure out how to copy and paste from Gmail. I want to paste the complaint here

cant you just explain the situation (while understanding that some people dont listen/arent fair) if you didnt do anything you shouldnt get in trouble over it.

of course i was getting death threats and sexualized comments (i guess youd call them) and i was the one that got in shit for it meanwhile that idiot is still working there, so yeah i get unfair workplaces

Hi there,

I and 2 other staff members attended our course on Saturday
17th of Apr.

I am writing to you in regards to the teacher that led the class and made a
number of people feel very uncomfortable and made one girl cry.

From the moment we all arrived, he was quite rude, especially to the
students of an Asian background by making remarks out loud "Do you
understand me" "Can you speak good English?"
The girl that cried during the course was interrupted and told she will notpass the course and will have to come back because she did not understand

what he was saying. I understand to pass the course you should be confident
etc. but it was not right for him to openly embarrass her like that. When
he asked her questions, he did not slow down to ask but he rather spoke
quite fast.. so fast that anyone who was born in Australia like myself even
had trouble understanding him. During the course he would ask her to
demonstrate something and when she didn't understand him, he openly said to
demonstrate something and when she didn't understand him, he openly said to
the girl next to her "Can you show you, I can't and she doesn't understand"
When these remarks were made, we were all told to stop what we were doing
and watch what she was doing wrong.

Due to Covid and how hygiene should be taken to the next level, we also
found it concerning that after we used the equipmentwe were not required to clean the equipment after.
Therefore we do not know if they were cleaned before we used them.

I thought this would be valuable feedback."




I didn't do it like she said. I was firm but fair and said she might have to book into a regular.

None of the instructors want to do the express classes cause it has a very high failure rate.

They struggle to keep staff because of the express classes

Do you have any proof that you didn't do what she says you did? Does she have any evidence too?

If none of you does, then it's her word against your word and you have nothing to worry about.

I guess you've had this job for a long time and never had problems right? Just use that as your "defense".

Hope you can sort this out and worst-case-scenario, don't worry, there are lots of jobs out there.

Thanks for your response. Yes I am definitely looking for something else. The boss has said that if I want scraps of work I have to do some express classes which is something I'm not into
And is the main reason there is such a high turnover of staff.

There hasn't been a complaint for 5 months now and I'll mention that.

The previous complaint was also from an express class
