I was wondering if it was possible to commit suicide by eating poisoned mushrooms on purpose. If so, what mushroom would be the best and how would it look like? Because I know you can get nausea or digestive issues and even die form some if the doses are higj enough I guess... Do you think it would be peacefull or an agony to die from them?

We have mushrooms galore at work but couldn't tell what is poisoning but we do have deadly nightshade growing in the woods behind us.

Okay. I will look into the resource page as you all said. Thank you for the replies, I'm kind of new to all this so I can't quite find everything yet.
Foraging for poisonous mushrooms seems way more exhausting than the other better known ways... You'd need to take a course to find out, AND know where to go, then search for maybe hours or days and maybe never find anything. Or find something, try it, tastes nasty but isn't poisonous. I can barely walk out my door most days, this is definitely too messy and exhausting to even plan...

And very painful when eating them. You body will be revolting to digest them, with lots of pain involved. It can work, but it will be painful.

I've read nowadays, it's not as deadly. They destroy your liver, and get stuck in a hospital bed awaiting a liver transplant.
On the up side, I've also read that people who survive mushroom poisoning from the Destroying Angel say it was the best tasting mushroom they ever had.

Assuming you can even get a liver in time. A long and agonizing ride on the bus is likely with mushrooms I am afraid.

Think it wasn't clear based on his journals, the speculation by the author is that it was seeds of Hedysarum alpinum, a purple flower thing that is also called wild potato. But wild potato is not known to be toxic, so then it's speculated that he ate something that looked like the seeds of wild potato, but actually something else poisonous. Also I think technically he died of starvation as result of not being able to eat and being sick.
It wasn't a mushroom though.
