Discussion Corona is a good thing...?

I think that corona is a good thing for the planet and the economy in the end.
Please put me in a waste bin if you don't agree with.. I will not be hurt.
and Sorry if you lost someone you loved with it...

For now, corona might not be a good thing because people lose their jobs, some people struggle to eat enough and some die..
But, in the meantime, we saw that pollution decrease, we use less oil, industry activities slow down and I think that's good for the planet.
Also, who say less people on earth, say more jobs for the survivors, more space... ok, I am weird...

Also, with the lock-down, people are a little experiencing what we deal with, like social withdraw. No bars, no restaurants, no museums, no cinema, no concerts, no traveling. Nothing to distract them. They experience what it is to not have money to do this.

Yeah, we are also suffering of corona. But in a way, it decreases a little my suicidal thoughts because I don't compare myself too much with the others. I know that when corona will be over, I will feel back the huge difference between them and me. They will enjoy meeting together, making parties. And I will be on my side again.

Does someone feel the same?

Because of the things you mentioned, I think it's both a good and bad thing.
There are many people who want to live but this goddamn virus is killing them. It's so unfair.

As for me, coronavirus has really helped me.
For instance, I don't like going out very much but now, I can even work from home. My students have really got used to online lessons and I find that amazing. You should see me teaching English and Spanish while having some "yerbamate" lol.
I'm deffo never going back to teaching in physical spaces haha.

Anyway, I think this pandemic is quite serious and will last some more years.

There's many many current and future disadvantages and issues with the pandemic. A big advantage for me personally is the fact that remote, flexible working is now the norm. It used to be the very rare exception. I can now work a little bit, not full time, but part time at least. And that's something I struggled with before due to my physical disability and mental illnesses. I'm worried everything's just going to go back to normal though and we'll be expected to resume face to face work soon, which will effectively end my employment and plunge me back into financial hardship. I'm trying to make the most of it and save up for Nembutal.
