Please give me ways to cope. It feels so unbearable dealing with everyday life. I have been professionally diagnosed but with no support (Fuck the NHS) I read some book that suggested bs ways to cope like breathing techniques and whatnot. I need actual solutions. They are supposed to put me on quetiapine but idk when the fuck they'll do shit. I'm so desperate and I have no money to buy SN right now, so I need to start coping because I don't want to end up in A&E over something stupid again

As someone with multiple doctors suspecting me to have BPD and me relating to the feeling and symptoms of the disorder I want to know too. NHS is shit and barely helps me too, only really giving medication to me that isn't doing anything.

Medication did nothing for me. NHS sucks really bad! My only way to cope is, buy lots of stuff you like, get drunk, SH (cutting, punching, hanging) and other self destructive things.

Have u tried DBT therapy? Because I've been put on a waitlist but it's been months and nothing so far. If u have, how was ur experience? Also It makes me sad to hear how u just self destruct, and idk if I wanna go back to doing that. Like, I want to either live a good life or no life at all, do u get me?

Hobbies help ( painting -drawing - music for me)

Meditation, walking, cycling things that are distracting and low on triggers.

Therapy helped a bit ( have to say have done a lot of that the last 25 years)

You have to find something that fits you, not every bpd'er is or reacts the same.

I can tell you it will all mellow down a bit with getting older. At least for me it does, and I've heard the same from fellow borderlines.

I've heard that DBT works wonders for us. I've never been able to have a specialist go through it with me, but the DBT workbook is free online and some people with BPD who opt for self-help do a worksheet page or a few per week by printing them out or just answering digitally, in their own journal, or whatever method is most accessible and comfortable for them.

What worked for me to some extent is:

- taking long walks (10k steps) while listening to music (up beat songs)

- hyperfocusing on my ideas/hobbies and trying to make them a reality to some extent (mostly in order to forget)

-and gaming

I guess depending on the situation you could always make a pros and cons of list before deciding on a major decision. If not on paper/digitally than at least in your head. That way even if guilt kicks in, you will have it in the back on your mind that whichever decision you made, you did it with the best of your abilities and what you knew at the time.
