I am. And I envision an endless abyss of blackness and peace. I feel like it will be like before I was even born, just nothing and I can't wait.

some days lmaoo when i'm more hopeful i believe in god. but rather than god being a human-like spirit i view it more as the life energy that flows through the universe and connects all existing beings together. as for death, i have no way of knowing. i believe my energy will distribute elsewhere, where idk. i don't like the idea of heaven and my current consciousness existing as a whole eternally. when this life ends i want it to end, my inner spirit can carry on wherever it wants but my consciousness better disappear, i'm sick of it lmaoo

I used to called myself an atheist until I realized than being an atheist is just being kinda a religious fanatic.

Thus, I became an agnostic. I just don't know what the hell is going on but I can't be 100% sure about anything. Just, what is life?

As for your afterlife question, this is just a hunch but I think once we're dead, we log out from this simulation. I know, sounds nuts but hey, it's a still a possibility lol.

"It is not I who will die, it is the world that will end." -As quoted by Ayn Rand, but original attribution unknown. I neither endorse nor reject this. It's a puzzle, to me. As an objectivist leaning person myself, I always found this an odd statement from her, in a scientific way, since she believed in the primacy of matter over consciousness, or existence as outside of consciousness. But in a poetic sense, I see the point of it.

Personally, I lean atheist, but have had weird experiences that make me question it, so at this point, I'm at "I don't know." I don't think it's quite heaven and angels and a bearded father figure, but as far as the matter of the origins of consciousness, I'm open to speculation.

Yes. Completely a million percent atheist.

I have had paranormal experiences with the afterlife. I think people who have things still do deal with walk the afterlife. And people who don't, their spirit moves on. Onto where... I don't know

Yes. By which I mean that I don't think there's good reason to believe in the existence of a god, NOT that I know god doesn't exist.

It really doesn't matter to me anymore. I don't think we as Humans are spiritually and mentally advanced enough to fully grasp those concepts that get thrown around and with that limited view everything get blurry the more I thing about that stuff. There is an endless realm of ideas and theories to dive into but I've give up on that.

I'm not sure. I have had experiences which are mystical - sometimes even sober - of universal love, which were very beautiful but very transient. I have also felt the presence of God (just once) but it was a very beautiful experience. When I used to meditate, it was wonderful, but I can't meditate anymore with suicidal thoughts.

I've also done a fair amount of psychedelics. I don't know whether or not I believe in God or not, or if it is all just different chemicals playing on the brain.

I used to believe in reincarnation but I try not to these days.

I sometimes walk down the street shouting 'I hate you God'. I do it when people aren't around. Cos it is such a struggle just walking down the street with depression. So probably my relationship with God is more hatred than atheism, but I also miss God a lot if that makes sense.

I am one of these who grew up in such a fevorously religious family that even though I don't believe in God, I am still afraid of it and concepts like hell and punishment. I still think there is nothing after death, but I still catch myself thinking "maybe God is making my life shit as a punishment for not believing in him" lol.

I am 200% atheist and member of the Monty Python's church. I wish I wasn't (atheist), but there is no way to convince myself of an existence of a God(s) or Goddess. I've tried.

I don't like the western practise of religion and everyrhing that is part of it's History (althought the idea of "religare", the latin origin of the word religion, is nice), but the religious buildings are my fav architectonic gifts.

I live in Asia and lately I have been also very disappointed with the Buddhist monks and practitioners. I dont mean to generalise, as I speak from a very specific area and context, but from what I've seen in the last couple of years I can say that I thought Buddhism was different, a philosophy and/or a more tolerant religion.

Some horrible practises seem to come from humanity. My explaination seem to point more to capitalism tho. We have a very horrible version of it in here (capitalism tend to be even worse in "developing countries".

I believe there is something more, though beyond our comprehension. No longer religious yet I hold the after life as very painful and scary, even though there is nothing after. I can say, I don't know what happens, maybe we should ask the cemetery.

@HarpoMarx I read about a fight over succession in a Buddhist monastery where people killed each other. Also, unfortunately, there are sex abuse scandals that have come out about particular Western Buddhist movements of late. While I blame humanity, it makes me dubious about religion.

All the Gurus I used to believe in, I have discovered that lots of them have feet of clay/more sex scandals.

Where was that? I'vent heard about it. @LittleJem . You reminded me of The name of the Rose movie.

In my case, it's not only the monks who disappointed me, but also the people who claim to be fully devoted to Buddha teachings. I havent seen more animal cruelty in any other place of the world, though Buddha was very specific about animals' treatment. But hey, I'm a westerner in Asia, so I might be misunderstanding many things in here... Who knows. I hope so. There is something call eurocentrism, i might be acting eurocentric in this case.

Nah, I'm an agnostic: all the lack of accountability or responsibility of atheism with none of the pretentious attitude! :blarg:

Alternatively, I like to see being agnostic as being atheist but being able to admit that I can also be wrong/stupid. My mom was super Christian and my dad was super atheist so that's probably why I turned out this way. I went to church a few times as a kid and watched VeggieTales so I know at least some of that but I was always uncomfortable there but I feel that way about any organizations tbh. Then again, there have been way too many coincidences in my life, good and bad, for me to fully be able to discount religion entirely. Maybe a minor demigod just likes messing with me?

On the other hand, I don't know which faith or lack thereof is real so I guess I'll find out when I die, or not, who knows? Nobody, that's who. The questions religion claims to answer are likely incomprehensible to us stupid monkeys and subsequently, just because that is true, it doesn't mean the answer to those questions has to be NO.

I don't believe there's an afterlife and I'm not sure if any higher power exists. Guess that makes me agnostic.

What do you think happens after death?

absolutely nothing. we are just part of the circle of life. like a leave of a tree. in the end we are not more than fertilizer. the higher meaning is just a justification which is easier for our monkey brains to compute. you can see it even as a part of our survival instinct as a species to give our existence meaning. but in the end we are like the spores of a plant which tries to get spread very wide to secure survival. the difference might be that we are on the verge to spread on a interplanetary scale.

the cynic in me still hopes we extinct before we infest this universe with our despicable existence cause we are a disease. but i am less cynical lately so i don't really care about it.

but also knowing that i know shit i would say i am a 99.9999999999999999% atheist and the rest is agnostic.
