Anyone here have any phobias? I have a few that feel childish or just dumb at times, so I'll start!

Acrophobia (Fear of heights)
Nyctophobia (Fear of darkness) (I've gotten better at trying to overcome it though!)
Philemaphobia (Fear of kissing)
Entomophobia, Insectophobia (Fear of bugs)

No judgment! Just curious if people here have any phobias they struggle with.

Fear of spiders, can't remember what the phobia term for it is. Arachnophobia or something? Well, I'm too afraid to google because fuck those 8-legged shits. Don't want to see those on my laptop screen.

Out of curiosity, how does philemaphobia work? Do you get like anxious when thinking of the idea of kissing someone or is it during the act?

What I fear is existence, I see existence as an abomination that just causes endless amounts of suffering and harm, it terrifies me how a human can exist for so long in this reality where there is no limit as to how much agony one can feel just to be tortured by old age, existing can easily get way more unbearable at any moment which is just so terrifying to me.

And this is certainly a reason as to why I only hope for non-existence as only in non-existence will I be safe from all cruelty and suffering with all finally forgotten about for me, death is the only peace for me, I have no interest in suffering in this horrific world anyway and see existing as deeply undesirable. To me existing truly is just pointless, unnecessary suffering, human existence will always feel like a terrible mistake to me, I personally see it as so terrible to be conscious in this existence capable of suffering to unlimited amounts, I suffer so much from being enslaved in this existence without the option to just painlessly free myself from it in peace.

Pyrophobia (fear of fire.) I don't know whether it is as bad as a phobia but, it's pretty severe.

There's also one person from my childhood (who caused me to become suicidal in the first place) who I feel a deep level of fear about. I don't expect there's a name for that though. I reckon the prospect of seeing them again might be enough to push me through the SI barrier to CTB. Maybe I'll end up being grateful for that.

I believe them to be a narcissist so, I'm very paranoid of others who may be also- in case they end up acting the same way I suppose. (I expect we all have narcissistic traits of course.)

Phobias can be so weird though- right? Someone on one of my college courses had something like trypophobia- a disgust or phobia of repetitive patterns or clusters of things. They said it started seeing frogspawn I think. Someone else I knew had a phobia of blades of grass. Even that is recognised as: agrostrophobia. I guess it makes sense if we have particularly bad associations with a certain thing.

Claustrophobia --just the thought of being stuck in a tight space leaves me hyperventilating. It's quite the adventure when I have to have a MRI.

- Herpetophobia (snakes, toads, ...)
- Fear of intimacy
- Social anxiety

I used to have fear of paying with card (in public, not online) and that's gone. Also solomangarephobia (fear of eating out alone) is mostly gone.

I have my fair share of fears (as anyone), but I don't think theyre intense enough as a phobia
Either way, I have fear of driving and fear of swimming as the most intense ones

I've been working on not getting too triggered on it, but I get extremely uncomfortable when they do it in movies, irl, or even mentions in books (if it gets too descriptive). It started as a kid with general discomfort, and now I feel extremely scared when it happens. It's a phobia I feel ashamed of because of how rare it is and... kissing is everywhere.

I really don't like driving. I can't think of it for more than a few seconds before my thoughts transfer to thinking about CTB to avoid it. I also am absolutely terrified of big cities. So, it is a really difficult spot to be in, and is significantly debilitating. (It substantially limits where I can work, makes grocery shopping a once-a-week-or-so nightmare of carrying 20 pounds over a few miles, etc.).

claustrophobia - not a fan of tight spaces, but I can deal with them when I need to.
Submechanophobia - pictures of things like shipwrecks and underwater airplane wrecks gives me the creeps. I didn't know other people felt this way until a few years ago.
acrophobia - like tight spaces, I can deal with heights when I need to.

To be honest, I am also afraid that I share too much information here and somebody, especially my therapist, will find me here. Maybe that's paranoia already, but I did not list some specific fears because of it...
