I wouldn't say I have a mother complex, although I was very close to her (she has dementia now ) my father was a vicious bastard who couldn't call me by my name and basically physically, verbally, emotionally and psychologically abused me. My ex took up with another when the kids were still young and basically deceived and lied to me much of the time.
